Saturday, June 30, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.: Garden Walk & Breakfast Talk: Sustainable Gardening
Start at the Crocker House Museum garden where you will get a map to tour local private gardens. Also enjoy shopping for garden art and share in a plant exchange at the Michigan Transit Museum. Simply bring your split plants or flowers to exchange for another. The Depot will also be open for tours. Garden Walk tickets are non-refundable and cost $12 for members of the Macomb County Historical Society and $17 for non-members. Before heading out to see the lovely gardens on the walk please join us for breakfast and an informative talk with Jan Coppolo Bills, author of Late Bloomer and owner of Two Women and a Hoe. She will present a program bout sustainable gardening; an organic method of growing plants that are able to successfully sustain itself without requiring many outside resources, pesticides, or herbicides. This breakfast-talk begins at 9 a.m. and includes home-made scones, hard-boiled egg, fresh fruit and hot Three Wives Tea in the Crocker House Garden. Breakfast tickets must be purchased in advance. Tickets are limited and non-refundable and cost only $12 for members and $15 for non-members of the Macomb County Historical Society.
